Office for Children and Families - Executive Leadership Committee

The Office for Children and Families (OCF) is currently driving several initiatives to improve our quality of services to children and families, local public children services agencies, advocacy organizations and associations, and the statewide community. These quality initiatives include, among many, the implementation of the Child and Family Services Review Program Improvement Plan and the pursuit of accreditation at the state and county levels.

In order to promote greater direct involvement in the development and implementation of policies and programs from our county partners, we convened the Office for Children and Families Executive Leadership Committee (ELC) in fall 2002. The ELC consists of 23 entities, including 15 county agencies, 4 Department staff, and 4 statewide advocacy organizations. The ELC meets every other month and includes state and county employees.

Not only does the ELC advise the Office on the direction of child welfare/child care practice at the local level, they participate on workgroups to create and revise policies to achieve the desired goal. To date, the following workgroups have been created:

  • PASSS and Adoption Assistance
  • Screening
  • OCWTP

The Office conducted a survey in August 2003 to gather how best to enhance the communication between the PCSAs and the Office's ELC. The survey was emailed to all 88 County PCSA directors and directors of combined agencies.
