Ohio Medicaid
Ohio’s Medicaid program provides health care coverage to children, pregnant women, families, seniors and people with disabilities who have limited income. Many of the people served by Medicaid obtain medical care at no cost, however, some must pay monthly premiums or co-payments for certain services. Once enrolled, Medicaid consumers gain coverage for doctor visits, hospital care, well-child visits, home health, long-term care and more. The ODJFS Office of Ohio Health Plans is responsible for administering Ohio’s Medicaid program.

Applications are available at http://jfs.ohio.gov/OHP/consumers/Application.stm. Applications are also available at the local county departments of job and family services.

As of July 1, 2009 the Medicaid Consumer Hotline is temporarily closed. If you are in a managed care plan and have questions about your health care, please contact your plan by using the member services number on your card. If you are not in a managed care plan and have questions regarding a bill, prior authorization or other health care issue, please contact your provider directly. If you have questions about your Medicaid case, please contact your local County Department of Job and Family Services.
